Se sometieron a varios tratamientos de calor semillas de Stylosanthes humilis, S. scabra, S. hamata y S. viscosa, para romper la dureza de las mismas en grandes vol. de semillas. Estos tratamientos incluyeron niveles de calentamiento y refrigeracion, asi como duracion de la exposicion; todos los tratamientos se efectuaron bajo 4 temp. (75, 85, 95 y 105 grados centigrados). Se encontro que la temp. a la cual se trato la semilla fue el factor mas determinante del porcentaje de germinacion. Sin embargo, el calentamiento rapido o el enfriamiento de la semilla a 0 grados centigrados despues del tratamiento proporciono una gran reduccion en la dureza. Se sugiere el calentamiento de la semilla seca a 85 grados centigrados durante 1 o 2 h y luego enfriar a temp. ambiental. (RA-CIAT) |
