La composicion quimica de estacas de yuca vario en secciones diferentes del tallo. El rendimiento de raices aumento a mayor edad de la estaca. Se establecieron relaciones lineales positivas entre la MS de las estacas, el contenido de N y K en las estacas y el rendimiento de raices. Las mejores estacas para un alto rendimiento de raices fueron aquellas tomadas de las secciones de mas edad del tallo. (RA-CIAT) The chemical composition of cassava setts varied in different sections of the stem. Tuber yield increased with an increase in the age of the sett. Positive linear relation ships between the dry matter of the setts, the N and K content in the setts and tuber yield were established. Best planting setts for high tuber yield were those taken from the oldest sections of the stem. (AS)
