Se descibe un metodo de fluorescencia de 2 colores para demostrar inmunohistoquimicamente la lectina leucoaglutinina de Phaseolus vulgaris (PHAL, marcada con isotiocianato de fluoresceina) transportado anterogradamente y la acetiltransferasa de colina (ChAT, marcada con rodamina) en la misma seccion del cerebro de la rata. La aplicacion de este metodo en el estudio de neuronas de proyeccion en los miembros vertical y horizontal de la banda diagonal, la substantia innominada y el oliva bulbar revelo que las vias tanto colinergicas como no colinergicas siguieron trayectorias similares hacia sus objetivos. (RA (extracto)-CIAT) A 2-color fluorescence method is described for demonstrating immunohistochemically the anterogradely transported plant lectin Phaseolus vulgaris leucoagglutinin (PHAL, fluorescein isothiocyanate label) and choline acetyltransferase (ChAT, rhodamine label) on the same rat brain section. Application of this method to the study of projection neurons in the vertical and horizontal limbs of the diagonal band, the substantia innominata, and nucleus basalis revealed that both cholinergic and noncholinergic pathways followed similar trajectories to their targets.
