Summary, etc	En una finca localizada a 9 grados 50' de lat. norte, con una precipitacion de 1600 mm al ano, seguida de una severa estacion seca que va de mediados de dic. a abril, se seleccionaron 4 sitios ampliamente separados para sembrar 3 gramineas para la produccion comercial de semilla en 1978. Los objetivos eran los de evaluar el nivel de fertilidad de los suelos, determinar luego los requerimientos de fertilizacion de las gramineas en cada sitio y establecer un vivero de introduccion con 70 cv. de gramineas y leguminosas para estudiar su conveniencia en la expansion de la produccion de semilla. Sobre la base de los resultados de los analisis de suelo, se utilizo una tecnica modificada del elemento faltante para evaluar los efectos de 7 nutrimentos, de un ensayo de campo con 10 tratamientos de fertilizacion y 4 bloques completos al azar en cada uno de los 4 sitios (2 de Panicum maximum cv. Colonial y 1 de cada uno de Brachiaria humidicola y B. decumbens). Se establecio tambien un expt. factorial repetido para evaluar el N y el P en 3 niveles, con Colonial en un solo lugar. En el segundo ano se sembraron 12 gramineas en 4 bloques al azar para obtener
