Summary, etc	En Niltepec, Oaxaca, Mexico, se adelanto un ensayo para evaluar el establecimiento y la produccion de 21 leguminosas y 12 gramineas, pero por problemas de sequia solo se han logrado evaluar hasta el momento 3 leguminosas y 7 gramineas. Pese a la sequia en la siembra original, se establecieron las leguminosas Leucaena leucocephala, Clitoria ternatea, Centrosema brasilianum 5234 y las gramineas Andropogon gayanus 14 y 4, Chrysopogon sp., Brachiaria humidicola 679, B. dictyoneura 6133, Cenchrus nunbank y C. ciliaris 6019. C. brasilianum 5234 fue la leguminosa mas rapida en establecerse. En el periodo de max. precipitacion se destacaron por produccion de forraje y tolerancia a plagas y enfermedades L. leucocephala y A. gayanus 4 y 14. El mayor rendimiento de forraje de las gramineas se obtuvo a las 9-12 semanas. L. leucocephala permanecio siempre verde hasta el inicio de las lluvias y tambien alcanzo la mayor produccion, junto con A. gayanus 4, en las evaluaciones hechas durante el periodo de sequia (nov. 1984-abril 1985).
