De abril de 1971 a marzo de 1973 se estimaron las dietas del ganado por medio de los animales fistulados y por tecnicas de muestreo convencionales con el fin de determinar los valores en un ecosistema caracterizado por Pinus palustris y Andropogon scoparius como especies dominantes. El consumo de MS estimado en los animales fistulados fue mayor que el obtenido por medio del muestreo de un cuadro. La proteina cruda y la digestibilidad del forraje fueron menores durante la primavera cuando el forraje crecio rapidamente; otros nutrientes en la dieta aparentemente no variaron estacionalmente. Las fistulas esofagicas mostraron que el ganado fue mas selectivo en su consumo de proteina cruda a diferencia de los metodos convencionales de muestreo. (RA-CIAT) |
