En la Estación Experimental del Arroz "Los Palacios", durante tres años, en condiciones semicontroladas y en campo se desarrolló un estudio, para determinar el efecto del estrés hídrico por defecto sobre el desarrollo y rendimiento en el cultivo del arroz. Los resultados arrojaron una alta respuesta a la recuperación de las plantas estresadas (12-24 horas) después de ser abastecidas de agua; se observó un mayor ahijamiento y número de panículas/m(2) respecto al testigo. Es de interés señalar que en condiciones semicontroladas y en campo, se encontraron diferencias significativas (P menos que 0.05), cuando el estrés se realizó en las variantes 1 y 2 respecto al testigo que fue el peor |

A research study was conducted at "Los Palacios" Rice Research Station for three years, under semicontrolled and field conditions, with the objective of determining the effect of default water stress upon rice development and yield. Results provided a high response to stressed plant recovery (12-24 hours) after water supply; a greater tillering and panicle number/m(2) were observed compared to the check.
