Los no. cromosomicos de 2 formas morfologicas de Desmodium uncinatum, D. affine, D. incanum y D. triarticulatum fueron todos 2n = 22. Trifolium riograndense, de la localidad de Vacaria, RS, Brasil, presento 2n = 16. La sinapsis en la meiosis fue regular en todas las entidades taxonomicas investigadas. Este es el primer estudio de cromosomas efectuado en D. triarticulatum, mientras que los otros resultados confirman observaciones previas, asi como la sugerencia de que las 2 formas morfologicas de D. uncinatum son ecotipos de una sola especie.
