Cuando se utilizaron 2 metodos de cultivo para examinar el efecto de las fuentes de N Fijado en la actividad de la nitrogenasa de Rhizobium sp., se detecto una actividad significativa de la misma en la cepa de Rhizobium 32H1 cultivada CON NH4+ en exceso de la concentracion limitante del crecimiento. Pero cuando NH4 era la unica fuente de N, la actividad de la nitrogenasa fue del 14-36 por ciento de los cultivos comparables desarrollados en glutamato. El glutamato inhibio la utilizacion de NH4+ exogeno y atenuo el efecto del amonio sobre la actividad de la nitrogenasa. El NH4+ aparentemente producido a partir del N2, fue excretado en el medio de cultivo cuando el crecimiento se habia iniciado en glutamato pero no cuando el NH4+ era la unica fuente de N fijado para el crecimiento. Estos resultados se discuten en relacion con la fijacion de N por los bacteroides de Rhizobium. (Herbage Abstracts- CIAT) |
