El sistema especial de molinos Biehl esta compuesto de 6 maquinas para procesar raices frescas de yuca en harina granulada: limpieza y rallado de la raiz, la molienda hasta convertirla en una masa liquida, deshidratacion mecanica, suspension acuosa de la torta, granulacion y asado de la masa humeda y por ultimo enfriamiento y clasificacion del producto terminado. A pequena escala se pueden producir 15 bultos de 50 kilos y a gran escala, 30 bultos. Para la primera operacion se necesitan 4 operadores y 6 para la ultima. El nuevo sistema necesita menos combustible (4 vs 12 m3 lena) y su rendimiento es 50 por ciento mayor (300 en vez de 200 kg/harina/1000 kg de raices). (CIAT) |

The special Biehl system mill is composed of 6 machines required to process fresh cassava roots into granulated flour: cleaning and rasping of the roots, grinding into a liquid mass, mechanical dehydration, watery suspension of the cake, granulation and roasting of the wet mass, and cooling and classification of the finished product. On a small scale, 15 50-kg sacks can be produced; on a large scale, 30 sacks. Four operators are needed for the former and 6 for the latter operation. The new system required less fuel (4 vs. 12 m3 firewood) and yields 50 percent more (300 vs. 200 kg flour/100 kg roots). (CIAT) |
