Para seleccionar la epoca de cosecha y los cv. optimos para la produccion de heno, se determino la productividad del tercio superior y de los dos tercios inferiores de la parte aerea de la yuca, asi como la produccion de heno y la composicion quimica de 10 cv. diferentes cosechados a los 8, 12, 16, 20 y 22 meses despues de la siembra. Los cv. mostraron los mayores rendimientos de heno de alto contenido proteinico a los 12 y 16 meses despues de la siembra. Los cv. Engana Ladrao y Guaxupe, a los 12 meses despues de la siembra, y Engana Ladrao, Guaxupe, Iracema e IAC 1418, a los 16 meses despues de la siembra, se consideraron los mejores. El uso de los dos tercios inferiores de la parte aerea fue mejor a los 20 meses despues de la siembra. En ese momento, los cv. mostraron rendimientos altos de heno, con mayor contenido de proteina y de almidon y menor contenido de fibra. Los cv. Riqueza, Engana Ladrao e Iracema se seleccionaron como los mejores cv. para produccion de heno; el cv. To select optimum harvesting time and cv. for hay production, the productivity of the upper 3rd and the lower 2/3 of the aerial part of cassava was determined as well as the hay production and chemical composition of 10 different cv. harvested 8, 12, 16, 20, and 22 mo. after planting. The cv. showed the highest yields of high-protein hay at 12 and 16 mo. after planting. Cv. Engana Ladrao and Guaxupe, at 12 mo. after planting, and Engana Ladrao, Guaxupe, Iracema, and IAC 1418, at 16 mo. after planting, were considered the best. The use of the lower 2/3 of the aerial part was best at 20 mo. after planting. At this time, the cv. showed high hay yields, with higher protein and starch contents and lower fiber contents. Cv. Riqueza, Engana Ladrao, and Iracema were selected as the best cv. for hay production; cv. Iracema could also be used as a source of starch due to high starch productivity and content. (AS) |
