Summary, etc Durante un periodo de iluminacion continuo de hojas ahiladas de Phaseolus vulgaris L., la actividad de la ferredoxina-NADP reductasa aumento exponencialmente despues de un periodo inicial de retraso de 10-15 horas, mientras que la razon molar clorofila/reductasa aumento hasta un valor constante de 750 mas o menos 50, despues de aproximadamente 15 horas de iluminacion. Se obtuvo la misma proporcion cuando el enverdecimiento ocurrio con una baja intensidad de luz. La actividad del fitocromo influyo en la sintesis de la ferredoxina-NADP reductasa, tal como lo indica su respuesta a los tratamientos con luz roja y rojo lejano. Summary, etc During continuous illumination of etiolated leaves of Phaseolus vulgaris L., ferredoxin-NADP reductase activity increased exponentially after an initial lag period of 10-15 h, while the chlorophyll/reductase molar ratio increased to a constant value of 750 plus or minus 50 after approx. 15 h illumination. The same ratio was obtained when greening occurred at low light intensity. The synthesis of ferredoxin-NADP reductase was influenced by phytochrome activity as indicated by its response to red/far-red light treatments. The effects of D-threo chloramphenicol and lincomycin indicated that synthesis of this enzyme did not involve translation on chloroplast ribosomes.The data are discussed in relation to the development of ferrodoxin and plastocyanin in greening bean leaves.
