(RA-CIAT) spa

Two major diseases of cassava, CBB (Xanthomonas campestris pv. manihotis) and CAMD are discussed. The severity of CBB on cassava, which is characterized by angular leaf spot, gum exudation, wilting, and die-back is measured by the degree of wilting and die- back observed. This is graded into 5 classes. CAMD is characterized by chlorosis, which alternates with islands of deep green tissue thus giving the affected leaves a mosaic pattern. In severe cases there are malformation and stunting. The severity based on chlorosis and malformation is also graded into 5 classes. (AS) eng
