En la Escola de Agronomia de la U. Federal da Bahia, Cruz das Almas, Brasil, se efectuo un expt. de campo para determinar la eficiencia de productos quimicos para el control del acaro de la yuca, Mononychellus tanajoa, en yuca cv. Cigana Preta. Los tratamientos incluyeron ometoato (0.12 por ciento i.a.), azinfosetilo (0.08 por ciento i.a.), clorobencilato (0.05 por ciento i.a.), fosalone (0.07 por ciento i.a.) y el testigo. Ometoato fue el mas eficiente, seguido por fosalone y azinfosetilo. Aunque el control quimico es eficiente, se considera el uso de var. resistentes como una medida de control mas efectiva y durable. A field trial was carried out at the Escola de Agronomia of the U. Federal da Bahia, Cruz das Almas, Brazil, to determine the efficiency of chemical products in controlling the cassava mite, Mononychellus tanajoa, in cassava cv. Cigana Preta. Treatments included omethoate (0.12 percent a.i.), azinphos-ethyl (0.08 percent a.i.), chlorobenzilate (0.05 percent a.i.), phosalone (0.07 percent a.i.), and the check. On the basis of the data obtained, omethoate was the most efficient in controlling M. tanajoa, followed by phosalone and azinphos-ethyl.
