El objetivo final del intercambio de yuca entre diferentes paises es obtener var. mejoradas; para lograrlo se requiere: continuidad de los programas de mejoramiento que manejan el material genetico introducido; profesionales capaces de manejar las diferentes formas en que se intercambia ese material y personal tecnico de apoyo; instalaciones fisicas tales como lab. de cultivo de tejidos, invernaderos y campos exptl. y un mecanismo para multiplicar las nuevas var. y entregarlas al agricultor. The final objective of exchanging cassava germplasm among different countries is to obtain improved var.; in order to do so, the continuity of breeding programs that handle introduced genetic material should be assured along with professionals trained to manage the different ways of germplasm exchange, technical assistants, physical facilities such as tissue culture lab., greenhouses, and exptl. fields, and a mechanism for multiplying new var. and releasing them to farmers.
