Online resources: Summary: The objective of this document was to related the result of the Latin-American meeting on genetic resources of cassava accomplished by the Centro Nacional de Mandioca e Fruticultura Tropical, of EMBRAPA, in partnership with the International Center of Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), in Cruz das Almas, Bahia, Brazil in the year of 1995. They participated of this meeting specialists in genetic resources of cassava of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala and Paraguay. It was modernized and it was standardized the available morphologic and agronomic descriptors for cassava and of its respectives states, used in the characterization and evaluation of the accesses maintained in germplasm collections located in the America-Latin. It was established that the cassava accesses would must they be characterized in way standardized by means of the use of seventy five morphologic and agronomic descriptors, discriminated in this document, classified in five categories in agreement with the order of importance or use purpose.
