Este documento se ha preparado con la contribución y aportes de diversos grupos relacionados con la investigación, comercialización y conservación de las frutas tropicales. El intercambio de ideas se dio a través de reuniones individuales y en talleres con grupos de trabajo multidisciplinarios, cuyas ideas se han plasmado aquí. El documento describe las áreas en las que el grupo de Frutas Tropicales del CIAT, en cooperación con socios nacionales e internacionales, enfocará sus esfuerzos de investigación para: Mejorar la competitividad de los pequeños productores de frutas tropicales y proveedores de servicio a través de información y tecnologías que resulten en prácticas y sistemas de producción sostenibles, mejoren el acceso a mercados e incrementen sus ingresos familiares.
This document was prepared with the contributions and support of diverse groups related to the research, commercialization, and conservation of tropical fruits. The exchange of ideas was achieved through individual meetings and workshops with multidisciplinary working groups whose ideas were molded here. The document describes the areas in which the Tropical Fruits group at CIAT, in cooperation with national and international partners, will focus its research efforts to: Improve the competitiveness of small tropical-fruit growers and service suppliers through information and technologies that result in sustainable practices and production systems, thus improving access to markets and increasing family incomes
