En el proyecto se estableció una industria de secado de yuca, que suponía cambios en la tecnología de producción y la introducción de nuevos métodos de procesamiento y mercadeo. El analisis ex ante destacó los beneficios del proyecto al pequeño agricultor, mientras que el esfuerzo de seguimiento midió los beneficios de distribución y reajustó la estrategia del proyecto. La evaluación continua del impacto permitió una mayor orientación hacia el objetivo y mejoró la efectividad total y de distribución del proyecto. (RA (extracto)- CIAT)Summary: The present paper elaborates the concept of ex post and ex ante impact integration, describes possible impact assessment methodologies, and illustrates these with data from a joint CIAT/DRI project in the Atlantic Coast of Colombia. In this project, a cassava-drying industry was established, involving changes in production technology and the introduction of new processing and marketing methods. Ex ante analysis stressed the benefits of the project to the small farmer, while the monitoring effort measured distributional benefits and readjusted the project strategy. The continuous impact assessment allowed increased goal orientation and improved distributional and total effectiveness of the project. (AS (extract))
