Seed production of 12 advanced breeding lines and 3 cultivars of bush snap beans was evaluated at EMGOPA-Experimental Station of Anápolis. Sowing was done in May 9, 1991 and the flowers onset begun 40 to 43 days later; seeds were harvested at 113 days after planting. There was a large variation between genotypes regarding to their reaction to Colletotrichum lindemuthianum on leaves and pods; bean golden mosaic virus pressure was low. The average production ranged from 9 to 18 pods/plant with 4-6 seeds/pod. The weight of one hundred seeds varied from 25 to 41 grams. The breeding lines Hab 19, Hab 39, Hab 45, Hab 52 and Hab 198 and the cultivars Mimoso Rasteiro AG-461 and Alessa showed the best seed production, disease resistance and agronomic characteristics. eng
