Phaseolus vulgaris var. Ouray is an F5 selection from crosses involving Sanilac, UI111, Light Red Kidney, and pinto 5439-1. It has an upright bushy habit, with a large sturdy stem, prolific branching, and a heavy set of flowers and fruits. Seeds are medium to large (100-seed wt., 42 g) with a typical pinto pattern. Ouray matures in approx. 84 days at Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. It is resistant to the type and New York 15 strains of BCMV, and to some races of Uromyces phaseoli var. typica.
