(CIAT) spa
Six F5 populations derived from Pinto x Aurora beans and commercial cv. that served as controls were evaluated for yield performance under stress due to Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and in disease-free conditions. Yields with and without fungicide protection and the tolerance index are given for each F5 population and the parental lines. At the low level of disease occurrence, the tolerance indices were relatively high (range 0.79-0.95) for all F5 populations. Path coefficient analysis indicated that yield ability affected yield the most under disease stress, followed by disease severity. The ratio of seed wt. of diseased plant seeds:seed wt. of protected plant seeds also exerted a negative effect on yield under disease stress. Aerial infection also exerted a negative effect whereas date of maturity had no effect. (CIAT) eng
