(RA-CIAT) spa
Three distinct biotypes of Colletotrichum lindemuthianum were isolated from a series of white bean cv. which showed a differential range of disease severities when inoculated with the gamma race. The biotypes differed from the parental gamma race in pathogenicity, spore production, and cultural characteristics in Mathur's agar. They also exhibited noticeable differences in colony features on Mathur's agar containing a concn. of 25 mg benomyl/liter. Their pathogenicity differences were persistent and were confirmed by reinoculation. The biotypes, however, did not differ significantly in growth rate and spore size. (AS) eng
