La tasa de imbibicion, determinada como la media de 5 repeticiones, se relaciono con el ciclo lunar, presentandose la max. absorcion de agua entre las nuevas fases del ciclo. El valor medio mensual de la tasa de imbibicion, calculado a partir de las mediciones diarias, exhibio un ritmo circanual que alcanzo los valores max. en ago.-sept. y los valores min. en feb.- marzo. Estos valores mensuales se correlacionaron positivamente con la media de las temp. max. registradas diariamente a la intemperie. (RA-CIAT)Summary: Water uptake of seeds of Phaseolus vulgaris cv. The imbibition rate, determined as the mean of 5 replications, was related to the lunar cycle, max. water uptake occurring between the new phases of the cycle. The monthly mean value of imbibition rate, calculated from the daily measurements, displayed a circannual rhythm reaching max. values in Aug.- Sept. and min. values in Feb.-March. These monthly values were positively correlated with the mean of the max. temp. recorded daily outside. (AS)
