N2  - Se utilizaron 3 grupos de 7 cerdos cada uno para comparar el valor nutritivo de la yuca y el maiz. Las raciones fueron: 1) 40 por ciento de yuca; 2) 20 por ciento de yuca + 20 por ciento de maiz; 3) 40 por ciento de maiz. El 60 por ciento restante en todas las raciones incluyo harina de maiz (20 por ciento), salvado de trigo (9 por ciento), torta de ajonjoli (15 por ciento), harina de pescado (5 por ciento), torta de algodon (10 por ciento) y mineral (1 por ciento). A cada tonelada de alimento se le adiciono 1 lb de Aurofac. Los cerdos se pesaron con intervalo de 14 dias a una misma hora y antes de que recibieran alimento. La racion 1 supero a las otras 2 raciones en el levante y engorde de los cerdos. La ganancia diaria fue muy variable durante todo el expt. pero al final tuvieron ganancias diarias prom. de 0.607, 0.544 y 0.527 kg para las raciones 1, 2 y 3, resp. El consumo de alimento fue mas o menos igual en todos los lotes. La eficiencia alimenticia fue de 4.63:1, 5.19:1 y 5.29:1 para las 3 raciones, resp. (RA); Three groups of 7 pigs each were used to compare the nutritive value of cassava and maize. Rations were: (1) 40 percent cassava; (2) 20 percent cassava + 20 percent maize; (3) 40 percent maize. The remaining 60 percent of all the rations included corn meal (20 percent), wheat bran (9 percent), sesame cake (15 percent), fish meal (5 percent), cottonseed cake (10 percent), and a mineral supplement (1 percent). One pound of Aurofac was added per ton feed. Pigs were weighed at 14-day intervals at the same hour and before eating. Ration 1 surpassed the other 2 rations for pig raising and fattening. Daily wt. gain varied during the exptl. period but at the end av. daily wt. gains were 0.607, 0.544, and 0.527 kg for rations 1, 2, and 3, resp. Feed intake was similar in all lots. Feed efficiency was 4.63:1, 5.19:1, and 5.29:1 for the 3 rations, resp. (AS-CIAT)
