El material de sosten fue para grava del tipo no. 5 y los riegos fueron realizados automaticamente por subirrigacion y frecuencia variable. Los rendimientos obtenidos superan los 6.000 kg/ha, para ambas variedades. Con base en el analisis de las situaciones en las cuales se desarrollo el cultivo, se preven resultados de rendimiento aun mas elevados con ese sistema de cultivo. (RA)Summary: This paper is a preliminary report on the yield of black and red beans grown in asbestos-cement beds and commercial nutrient solutions. The plants were growing in gravel culture (Mesh no. 5) and subirrigated automatically at intervals. The yield obtained in this condition of culture was higher than 6.000 kg/ha in both varieties and it is possible, with a better management, that yield could be still higher. (AS)
